The Problem

Arugambay Agenda already had a WordPress website, but it was underperforming on multiple fronts. Page load times were slow — unoptimized images, render-blocking scripts, and no caching strategy were dragging down the experience. SEO was neglected, with missing meta tags, poor heading structure, no sitemap, and zero organic visibility on Google for key travel-related searches. On top of that, the client needed new functionality: a customer review system, seasonal pricing that adjusts tour rates based on peak and off-peak periods, and a proper booking records system stored in a database to replace their manual tracking.

Our Solution

We started with a full performance audit — compressing and lazy-loading images, minifying CSS and JavaScript, implementing server-side caching, and eliminating render-blocking resources. Page load times dropped significantly. For SEO, we restructured the site's heading hierarchy, added proper meta titles and descriptions to every page, generated an XML sitemap, set up Google Search Console, and optimized for local and travel-related keywords. Then we built the new features: a customer review and rating system so tourists can leave feedback and future visitors can see real experiences. We implemented seasonal pricing logic that automatically adjusts tour package rates based on peak and off-peak seasons, removing the need for manual price updates. Finally, we built a booking records system backed by a database — every inquiry and booking is now stored, searchable, and accessible from an admin dashboard, replacing the client's previous spreadsheet-based workflow.

The Result

After the overhaul, the site saw a significant boost in organic search traffic with top-page Google rankings for key tourism keywords in the Arugam Bay region. Page load times improved drastically, the seasonal pricing system eliminated manual price updates entirely, and the database-backed booking system replaced their spreadsheet workflow — saving the client hours of admin work every week.
